In root canal treatment tooth is drilled, infected pulp is removed completely and the root canals are shaped and disinfected,undrlying pus is drained and then the root canals are filled with special material (Guttapercha) to acomodate the root canals above which the tooth is restored with a cement filling. Traditional root canal procedure requires 3-4 visits to a dentists office. First visit the acess is made and pulp is removed to facilitate the pus drainage. Second visit root canals are filed and shaped and disinfected with medicines. Third visit requires same dhaping and disinfection of root canals, if infection still persist. Fourth visit the shaped and disinfected root canals are filled with Guttapercha and root canals are sealed and tooth is restored with dental cements. If capping is recomended capping is done to prevent further tooth destruction.
